The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) is a premier international event organized by India's Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Scheduled in May , at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, this inaugural summit aims to position India as a global leader in the media and entertainment industry.​

Key Highlights of WAVES 2025
  • Global Platform for Industry Leaders: WAVES will bring together CEOs, creative professionals, and innovators from around the world to discuss advancements in animation, gaming, entertainment technology, and both regional and mainstream cinema.

  • Focus on Emerging Sectors: Special emphasis will be placed on the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sectors, which are rapidly growing and attracting attention worldwide. ​

  • WAVES Awards: The summit will feature the WAVES Awards, recognizing excellence across various creative disciplines. Categories include Game of the Year, Film of the Year, and Advertising Campaign of the Year. ​

  • OTT WAVES: A comprehensive digital platform offering archival content, live channels, and opportunities for independent filmmakers. This model promotes revenue-sharing, allowing creators to retain intellectual property while distributing their content. ​

  • Support from Telangana: The Telangana government has shown strong support for WAVES, highlighting its established ecosystem that promotes innovation in the media and entertainment sector.
