Oktoberfest, Germany – 2025

Oktoberfest originated in 1810, celebrating the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. What began as a horse race grew into the world’s largest beer and folk festival, now held annually. Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair), attracting over 6 million people annually. Held in Munich since 1810, it celebrates Bavarian culture with:

  • 🍺 Traditional German beer (served in 1-liter Maßkrüge)
  • 🍖 Local food (pretzels, sausages, roast chicken)
  • 🎡 Carnival rides & games
  • 💃 Lederhosen & Dirndl fashion
  • 🎶 Live brass bands & traditional music
✅ Tips for Visitors
  • Arrive early to get seats in beer tents
  • Book accommodation well in advance
  • Don’t forget cash – many vendors don’t accept cards
  • Respect dress codes if entering traditional tents
